		<description>You, sir, are amazing for posting this. Thank you. As a side note, I for some reason had to install the linux header files with this command prior to installing guest additions:

sudo apt-get install build-essential linux-headers-`uname -r`</description>

		<description>I&#039;ve misunderstood your instructions and applied them to my host (physical) machine.  Now it&#039;s failing with:
Starting the VirtualBox Guest Additions[   32.571088]: vboxguest: VirtualBox Guest PCI device not found.
...fail!
(modprobe vboxguest failed)
Starting VirtualBox Guest Addition service VirtualBox Additions module not loaded!

Would you have any suggestions on how to unwind that?  Many thanks!</description>
